Crews will be updating traffic lights all day
ASHLAND, Kentucky — Drivers taking Greenup Avenue in Ashland, Kentucky will face a bit of change on Monday.
Crews will be upgrading the traffic lights at the intersection of Greenup Avenue and 15th Street. The power to the traffic lights will be cut at 8 a.m. and remain off throughout much of the day until the project is completed.
The traffic on Greenup Avenue will free flowing but drivers on 15th Street will have a stop sign, so they will have to wait for traffic to clear before turning or proceeding across.
The Kentucky Department of Highways said that due to heavy traffic volumes on Greenup Avenue, motorists using 15th Street to access Greenup, particularly for left turns, should consider alternate routes.
Roadwork schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
