Rosemary Mitchell
Sept. 8, 1941– May 2, 2019
Rosemary Hampton Mitchell, 77, of South Point, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Ironton, on Sept. 8, 1941 to the late Gideon Eugene (Slick) and Leona Belcher Hampton and was the wife of the late Richard Henry Mitchell.
Rosemary attended Ironton High School where she was a majorette with honors, played saxophone in the band, and enjoyed dance. She continued to love the Ironton Fighting Tigers her entire life. She attended Ohio University and graduated from Marshal University with a Bachelor Degree in accounting. She touched many people, but loved her two children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything. She also developed a special relationship with her son-in-law.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Jean Hampton Destocki; and a brother-in-law, Paul Destocki.
Rosemary is survived by a son, Richard Mitchell of South Point; a daughter; Carolyn (Todd) Bradley of South Point; four granddaughters, Jennifer Mitchell of Columbus, Hannah (Zack) Layman of South Point, Tessa Mitchell of South Point, and Sarah Mitchell of South Point; a great-grandson, Evan Sarabia of Columbus; and two great-granddaughters, Kenzley Mitchell of Columbus, and Hazleigh Layman of South Point. She is also survived by a sister, Beverly (Carl) Hampton Nance of Ironton; and two nephews, Chris Destocki and Paul Edward Destocki.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. 6th St. Ironton with Pastor Schylar Fields officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain St, Ironton. Visitation will be 11 a.m.–1 p.m. the day of the service.

Daniel Nick Ditello, 72, of Chesapeake, died on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at The Sanctuary of Ohio Valley Nursing Home in Ironton.
Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake is assisting the family with arrangements. A private family service will be held.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Looney, 83, of Proctorville, died Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
