Ohio Southern equestrians receive awards at dressage awards banquet

PLAIN CITY — Members of the Ohio University Southern Equestrian team attended the Ohio Western Dressage Association awards banquet in Plain City on March 16. Riders submitted their top four scores in their divisions as qualifying members of OWDA. Southern’s riders competed in the student division.
Ohio Southern’s Equestrian Team was represented by Erica Broughton of Ashland, Kentucky, a 2019 Equine Studies graduate; Savannah Carr of Grayson, Kentucky, a 2018 Bachelor of Science in Applied Management graduate; Jaclyn Eisenschmidt of Cincinnati, a 2018 Equine Studies graduate; and Bradie Chapman, team coach and associate lecturer of Equine Studies.
Rider awards were placed in ordered of highest score submitted by riders and horse awards were placed on an average of the four scores. Results for the Ohio Southern team are as follows:
Erica Broughton: Reserve Champion Intro Horse with Birdie Student Division 62.772; Reserve Champion Rider Student Division 65.50; Champion Basic Horse with Birdie Student Division 68.739; Champion Basic Rider Student Division 70.62.
Savannah Carr: Reserve Champion Basic Horse with Birdie Student Division 65.90; Reserve Champion Basic Rider Student Division 69.00; Champion Level 1 Horse with Birdie Student Division 64.99; Champion Level 1 Rider Student Division 69.63; Overall High Point Rider in the Student Division.
Jackie Eisenschmidt: Third place Horse in Basic with Birdie Student Division 66.45; Third place Rider in Basic Student Division 64.304.
Bradie Chapman: Fifth place Basic Horse with Stetson in Adult Division 66.425; Fourth place Basic Rider in Adult Division 69.690; Champion Level 1 Horse with Stetson in Adult Division 73.274; Champion Level 1 Rider in Adult Division 77.22; Overall High Point Rider in the Adult Division; Overall Year End High Point Rider in the OWDA.
