SOUTH POINT — Members of the El Hasa Shriners Hillbilly Clan, Outhouse 8, of Ironton, were back in kindergarten on Wednesday morning at South Point Elementary.
The staff and students had their annual penny drive for the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the transportation fund at El Hasa Temple.
Their hard work brought in $525 for the Shriner children. A competition was held between the different grade levels to see which class could bring in the most money.
The school’s four kindergarten classes won the contest and was treated to a wonderful magic show put on by “The Magic of Billy Hall “
The group said a huge thank you goes out to all the staff and students, intervention specialist Katie Hacker, who coordinating this event, and principal Chris Mathes and vice principal Bill Christian, for allowing this event to happen each year.
Their support for the children of Shriners Hospitals is greatly appreciated.
