The Upper Township Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual chili cook off on Saturday.

Set up is at 9 a.m. at the fire department at 3402 State Route 141 outside of Ironton with the event beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

There are two categories, with first, second or third place in either the judge’s choice or people’s choice.

Samples are $2 each or $1 with a donation of a can of food. Chili fees are $10 if you pre-register or $12 at the door. Vendor fees are $15 if you pre-register or $20 at the door. Combined chili and vendor fees are $20 with pre-registration or $30 at the door.

Proceeds from the event go toward purchasing much-needed equipment and gear for the volunteer fire fighters.
