SOUTH POINT — South Point Local Schools would like to announce the addition of both middle school softball and middle school baseball teams starting this spring.

“We have experienced a lot of interest in these two sports over the years and have decided to add them to our list of fully sponsored school sports teams,” Superintendent Mark Christian said. “We join Dawson-Bryant as one of only two districts in the county with school sponsored middle school softball and middle school baseball teams.”

Christian said they would like to encourage all other districts in Lawrence County (as well as Portsmouth City and Gallia Academy) to consider adding these two sports in an effort to elevate them to OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) status.
