Public urged to donate

The American Red Cross will have a blood drive set up at the Ironton Fire Department on Saturday.

The blood drive will run from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the station, which is the second blood drive hosted by the Ironton Fire Department this year.

The American Red Cross urges people to donate blood, as there is currently a shortage. In addition, the American Red Cross provides about 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply, and blood is being distributed to hospitals as fast as donations are coming in.

The Ironton Fire Department is located at 526 S. Fourth St.
