WILLOW WOOD — Close wasn’t good enough.
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings battled the Western Lady Indians in three close sets but lost all three in a Southern Ohio Conference volleyball game on Tuesday.
The Lady Vikings fell 23-25, 21-25, 21-25.
Morgan Jenkins and Ellie Johnson had nine servicing points and two aces apiece while Allison Klaiber had eight points with two aces and Payton Hunter seven points and three aces.
Klaiber also had eight kills with Jenkins getting six kills and Hunter five kills with one block.
Ericca Ross had 19 setting assists and 14 digs. Jenkins led with 20 digs and Rachael Hayes had 16 digs.
Symmes Valley hosts Portsmouth Notre Dame on Thursday.
