Nearly 90 people showed up on Saturday to help support the Harvest for the Hungry food pantry.

Director Diane Porter said the silent auction fundraiser raised more than $3,100 for the pantry.

“We had a really great turnout,” Porter said. “We even had people showing up at the end when we were finishing.”

Guests at the event, which took place at the First Church of the Nazarene, bid on various items, which included artwork, food and signed memorabilia from Ohio sports teams, Bobby Bare and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Porter said anyone who would still like to support the pantry can send donations to Harvest for the Hungry, 120 N. 5th St. Ironton 45638.

She said the Harvest’s next fundraiser will take place at Consigned Books on Nov. 8, when author Ray O’Connor will be doing a book signing and donating proceeds to the pantry.
