To be sent to Lawrence County grand jury
The autopsy report of an infant discovered dead in Ironton back in April has been sent to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
Lawrence County Prosecutor Brigham Anderson said that with the autopsy report returned, it will now be sent to a grand jury in order to determine if criminal charges will be filed in the case.
Ironton police and investigators were called to a residence at the corner of Spruce and 10th streets on the evening of Tuesday, April 17, 2018, where an infant was found and declared deceased.
Early rumors and broadcast media at the time stated that the baby was found in a trashcan. However, Ironton Police Chief Pam Wagner said those were “entirely untrue,” and that the infant was, in fact, found inside the residence.
