Kenny Carpenter gets
ace at Grayson course
Kenny Carpenter recorded a hole-in-one while playing golf at Grayson Hidden Valley Golf Course.
Carpenter got his ace on the Par 3, 138-yard No. 15 hole while using a 9-iron.
Witnesses were Bob Carpenter and Matt McKinney.
Ironton Elks sponsoring
bus trip to Reds game
The Ironton Elks Lodge No. 177 is sponsoring a bus trip to the Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies game on Saturday, July 29, at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.
Fans will leave from the Hills Plaza for the 1 p.m. game. Cost of the trip is $50 each and covers transportation and field box seat along the first base line.
The trip is open to the public and children are welcome. You do not have to be a member of the Elks Lodge to participate.

St. Joseph offering free
athletic physicals
St. Joseph High School and Junior High School athletic physicals will be offered free of charge on Wednesday, June 13, at the high school.
Physicals will be from 8:30-to-10 a.m. and provided by King’s Daughters’ Medical Center.
An Ohio High School Athletic Association physical form must be completed and signed by a parent prior to the physical.
Forms are available in the high school principal’s office or on the OHSAA website.

ILL pitching machine
tournaments June 19-22
The Ironton National Little League will conduct pitching machine tournaments for boys and girls ages 6-7-8.
The tournament will be Tuesday through Friday, June 19-22, at the Ironton Little League. Entry fee for the double elimination tournament is $100.

Ironton girls’ basketball
camp set for June 25-28
The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ FUNdamental basketball camp will be held for all girls regardless of school for grades 2-through-9 from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Thursday, June 25-29, at the Ironton Sports Center.
Fee is $25 each. Each camper receives a Powerade drink each day of camp and a T-shirt at the end of the week.
An awards ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Faith & Fitness offers
summer basketball
The First Baptist Church Faith and Fitness Center is conducting summer youth basketball camps.
From 10-11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday during June and July, a camp will be held for boys and girls entering grades 3-5.
Youths entering grades 6-8 will meet from 11 a.m. to noon. with high school and college age players meeting from 1-2 p.m.
Fee is $10 per hour session. First workouts start June 5.
Camps for grades 4-7 will be July 9-12. Interested persons can look on info.on
An AAU tournament for grades 4-5 will be held June 25-26.
Summer open gyms have begun for top high school boys in the area. Players meet one or two nights a week all summer.
