Garnishments make for unique milkshakes at Little Bits Diner
By Maddie Cogan, Tribune Intern
Little Bits Diner, located on State Route 93, is a family owned and operated “shake shop.”
Rena Hatfield, along with her husband and two daughters, started Little Bits Diner at the end of April.
The diner serves traditional lunch and dinner items such as hot dogs and hamburgers, as well as over the top milkshakes.
Over the top milkshakes are milkshakes garnished with “anything from marshmallows to cookies to cupcakes.”
“I buy at least 10-15 gallons of ice cream a day,” owner Rena Hatfield said. “Sometimes it gets crazy, but we enjoy it.”
Each month, Little Bits Diner features a new milkshake to coincide with an upcoming holiday or season. At the end of the month the milkshake is retired.
Most ice cream items on the menu are made to split.
“I joke that I don’t have a normal size ice cream scoop,” Hatfield said. “Even our banana splits aren’t normal.”
Lunch and dinner items are cooked fresh according to Hatfield.
“Our burger is cut fresh,” Hatfield said. “That is the difference between us and McDonald’s.”
Customers can expect a “friendly atmosphere.”
“We are here for others to have a good experience,” Hatfield said.
Little Bits Diner is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
