South Point insurer made transition to industry after working retail
By Maddie Cogan, intern at The Tribune
SOUTH POINT — Conley Insurance Agency, located in South Point, is an independently-run insurance agency owned by Jennifer Conley.
Conley, a South Point native, spent most of her life working in retail and knew she “needed to do something different.”
“I prayed for one year about the path I should take,” Conley said. “One night, I was watching TV and an Allstate commercial came on and I thought ‘I’m going to give it a go.’”
Since then, Conley worked as an agent for Allstate, then eventually opened Conley Insurance Agency.
Conley and her eight licensed agents are able to serve the Tri-State with any insurance needs.
“Since we are an independent agency, we can do it all,” Conley said. “We work for you.”
Conley wants customers to have “peace of mind” when they come to Conley Insurance.
“When you come, it’s like joining family,” she said. “We are licensed and knowledgeable, I would put my staff against any in the Tri-State.”
Conley knows “that insurance isn’t black and white.”
She wants to be able to help guide customers through the insurance process and other circumstances that arise. Customers have her cell phone number to call or text her, so she can guide them through the process if an accident were to occur.
In some instances, she may come to the scene to help.
“Being able to help people” is important to Conley.
“We want to be able to save and protect,” she said.
With her personable and helpful staff, Conley hopes her business reflects the “Cheers” theme song: “Where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came.”
“When someone thinks insurance, I want them to think Conley Insurance,” she said.
