COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets offense was a big hit, but pitcher Kasey Murphy was unhittable.
Murphy hurled a no-hitter as the Lady Hornets beat the South Point Lady Pointers 11-2 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Tuesday.
Murphy struck out nine and did not walk a batter. Coal Grove’s five errors led to two unearned runs.
Lauren Crum led a 15-hit attack as she went 2-5 with a double, a home run and three runs batted in. Lauren Meyer was 3-3 with an RBI, Murphy and Gracie Riley were 2-5 with two RBI, and Addi Dillow was 2-5 with a double and an RBI.
On Wednesday, Coal Grove hosts Fairland and South Point visits Portsmouth.
