SOUTH POINT — A boil water advisory has been issued for some South Point residents.
Due to a water line break on Tuesday, the South Point Water Department is customers to vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking or oral hygiene.
The advisory affects those on Solida Road, from Southern Hills Motel north to end of corporation limit, and out Little Solida Road and all streets turning off Little Solida.
The water department said it has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility does exist however and the advisory is being issued as a precaution.
If no further notice is given after Thursday, then the samples are normal and the water is safe, they department stated.
Students at the middle and high schools were dismissed early on Tuesday due to water problems at the building.
