Eric Melvin

April 1, 1953 — Jan. 6, 2018

Eric Randall “Randy” Melvin, 64 of Ironton, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born April 1, 1953, a son of the late Eric Goodman Melvin and Mary Evelyn Mannon Melvin.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Melvin. Randy was a member of the Symmes Valley Veterans Honor Guard, AMVETS Post 141, Wilgus, a former firefighter for the city of Ironton and Perry Township, and a member of Johnstown Baptist Church.
Randy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gail Russell Melvin. Randy and Elizabeth celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Dec. 17, 2017. He is also survived by his three children, Erica Rose (Robbie Fetty) Melvin, of South Point, Eric Andrew Russell (Laura) Melvin, of Ironton, and James Alexander Melvin, of Ironton; three brothers, Timothy (Diane) Melvin, of Barboursville, West Virginia, John David (Sandy) Melvin, of Ironton, and Robert Melvin, of Ironton; two sisters, Nancy Aldridge, of Ironton, and Debbie Melvin, of Ironton; four grandchildren, Allison, Josiah and Zion Stallard, and Isaac Melvin; a special aunt, Ruby Mannon; his father-in-law, Carl Russell, of Kitts Hill; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Bill Shope, of Pedro, and Andrea and Donnie Holbrook, of Kitts Hill; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with the Rev. Roger Pierce and the Rev. Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Melvin Cemetery, Ironton. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. today at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Charles Williams

Charles Ray “Chuck” Williams, 85, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ashland Cemetery, Ashland, Kentucky. There will be no public visitation, and Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements. James Morris

James R. Morris, 66, of Kitts Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at his residence. There will be a private memorial service at the convenience of the family at a later date. Josiah Todd Moore, of Chesapeake, infant son of Regan Tiffany Sites and Joseph Moore, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.
