PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen went 2-for-2, and that wasn’t good news.
Rock Hill managed just two points in quarter number two and it proved to be the crippling blow in a 60-37 loss to the Oak Hill Lady Oaks on Wednesday.
Rock Hill (2-6) trailed by seven points after the first quarter but then saw the offense disappear in the second quarter.
“The second quarter killed us this evening,” said Rock Hill coach Todd Knipp. “They outscored us 20-2 and we were not able to respond.”
Maddie Scott had 14 points and Ryleigh Morris added nine to pace the Redwomen.
Oak Hill (8-3) was led by Caitlyn Brisker with a game-high 23 points. Olivia Clarkson scored 15 and Payton Crabtree added nine.
Brisker scored 13 points including a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Lady Oaks went up 19-12.
Morris scored five points and Makayla Scott had four to keep the Redwomen close.
But then came the second quarter as Maddie Scott went 2-for-2 at the foul line for the only Rock Hill points.
Crabtree and Clarkson each had seven points including a 3-pointer while Brisker scored six points and Oak Hill was up 39-14 at the half.
Rock Hill came back to outscore Oak Hill 16-13 in the third quarter and it was 52-30.
Maddie Scott scored six points while Lucy Simpson and Morris got four each. Payton Miller had all six of her points in the quarter for Oak Hill.
Four different players had a basket for Oak Hill in the fourth quarter while Maddie Scott scored four points to pace the Redwomen.
Rock Hill hosts Portsmouth on Thursday.
