Superintendent position to be filled soon
At a special meeting earlier this month, the Lawrence County Board of Developmental Disabilities accepted the retirement of Superintendent Paul Mollett, effective Oct. 27, 2017, and the resignation of Business/Operations Manager Ryan Cornett, effective Nov. 1, 2017.
Earlier this year, Mollett was named as a defendant in a lawsuit alleging that he sent sexually explicit photos to another former employee.
Tim Nunnery, board public relations and personnel director, said the board is currently working with the Ohio Association of County Boards to fill the superintendent position, which they hope will be completed in a few weeks. For now, Julie Monroe, superintendent of the Scioto County Board of DD, will continue serving as the interim superintendent.
“The board and its staff will be doing everything possible to keep the interest of our clients and students at the forefront of our duties,” Nunnery said. “We look forward to moving ahead with our goals to work with staff, families, clients and the community to provide the best services to our consumers that are available.”
