IHS hosts 31st annual band competition

17 bands participated in Saturday’s Buckeye Classic
The 31st Ironton High School Buckeye Classic was held at historic Tanks Stadium on Saturday.
There were 17 marching bands from several counties in Ohio and one from West Virginia.
The bands had 15 minutes to demonstrate their best performances before the judges.
Bands included the host school’s Ironton High School Million Dollar Marching Band and River Valley High School “Darkside” Band from Gallia County, Valley High School, Southern High School Marching Tornadoes from Racine, Symmes Valley Marching Vikings, Green High School, Wheelersburg Marching Pirates, Gallia Academy “Blue Devils” Marching Band from Galliapolis, Portsmouth West “Sensational Senators” Marching Band from West Portsmouth, Minford High School Marching Band, Northwest Marching Mohawks, Point Pleasant Black Knight Marching Band, Ross High School Band of Class, Dawson-Bryant High School Hornet “Band of Pride,” South Point High School, and Chesapeake High School Marching Band.
