Irene Wickline
Nov. 26, 1917 — Sept. 29, 2017
Mrs. Irene Lucille (Shore) Wickline, 99, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 26, 1917, a daughter to the late Edgar and Lilly (Delawder) Shore. Mrs. Wickline was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wickline, who passed away in 1979.
Mrs. Wickline was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. In addition to taking care of her home and family, Irene loved life, was an avid walker, enjoyed spending time at the senior center, enjoyed being on the go and around people, making them laugh and being the “life of the party.” She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Coal Grove and attended First Baptist Church, Ironton. Irene was an honorary member of the El Hasa Shrine Patrolettes.
Irene was survived by two daughters, Janet (Dan) Hieronimus, of Ironton, and Phyllis (Dan) Harper, of Ironton; three grandchildren, Joyce (Brian) Caskey, of Ironton, Bob (Melanie) Long, of Ironton, and Steven Harper, of Ironton; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah (Anton) Brock, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Michael (Kristen) Long, Chris Long, Brandon Long and (Sarah Runyon), Austin Caskey, Katelyn Caskey and Brittany Russell, all of Ironton; two great-great-grandchildren, Gabbi Brock, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Karson Hughes, of Coal Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Lightner; two brothers, Carmie Shore and Edgar Shore Jr.; and a grandchild, Jimmy Winters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Brian Caskey, Bob Long, Michael Long, Brandon Long, Dan Hieronimus and Dan Harper. Marty Holston
May 22, 1969 — Sept. 29, 2017
Marty Allen Holston, 48, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Ironton native was born May 22, 1969, a son of John Holston, of Franklin Furnace, and the late Linda Spears Malone.
He is also survived by his wife, Tammy Lynn Thompson Holston, whom he married Nov. 2, 1988.
Marty attended Symmes Valley High School and was a former roofer for the River Cities Roofing Company of South Point. He enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, Davey Malone.
In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by a son, Marty Allen (Brittany Naugle) Holston Jr., of Ironton; a daughter, Samantha Dawn (Daniel Salyers) Holston, of Ironton; five grandchildren, Ryliegh Blankenship, Brayden Salyers, Eli Holston, Bentley Salyers and Chase Salyers; three brothers, Shawn Holston, John Holston and Dave Holston; four sisters, Sandy Jenkins, Maggie Holston, Kimmy Malone Delawder and Tash Thompson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Dorothy Thompson, of Coal Grove; sister-in-law, Jami Thompson; and his loving dog, Molly.

Michael John Smith, 70, of Crown City, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Smith. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, assisted the family with arrangements.

Tina Louise Liston, 48, of South Point, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Eric Liston. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
