SOUTH POINT — This time things went right for the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers.
After losing the first meeting to South Point, Ironton won the rematch of the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game over the Lady Pointers on Thursday in another tough game, 19-25, 25-22, 25-16 and 25-20.
Lexi Wise led the offense with 14 kills, Samantha LaFon had 11, M’Kenzie McMaster eight and McKenzie Cremeens six. Ali White racked up 32 setting assists.
Behind the service line, Wise had 15 points with four aces and White 11 points with five aces. Riley Schreck got eight points while McMaster and Cremeens had seven each.
Defensively, Marybeth Burton led with six blocks and McMaster had four.
Cremeens and Wise combined for 29 digs. White had nine digs with Demi Sands and Peighton Rowe combining for 12.
In the reserve game, South Point beat Ironton in three sets, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22.
Ironton plays at 6 p.m. Monday at Russell, Ky. And host Portsmouth on Tuesday and Chesapeake on Thursday, both at 5:30 p.m.
