The village of South Point will host its community yard sale on Oct. 7.

Mayor Jeff Gaskin said the twice-a-year event takes place on the first Saturdays in October and April.

The village puts extra police officers on duty to handle the increased traffic.

Gaskin said a shredder truck will be set up during the yard sale, so that residents can dispose of documents.

He said, as was the case following the spring yard sale, South Point would also host a community clean-up the last week of October.
