CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds’ Hall of Fame and Museum has several events on the June calendar.
The Pete Rose bobblehead is available now at the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum as we prepare for the big day of Saturday, June 17, when the Pete Rose statue is dedicated in front of Great American Ballpark.
Herm Winningham will head east in Reds Country as he visits Reds Fans in Athens, Huntington, and Morehead, Ky., at Reds Hall of Fame Chapter Events.
Pete Rose Statue Dedication
Join the Reds Hall of Fame on June 17 as the organization honors Cincinnati’s own Pete Rose with a larger than life bronze statue on Crosley Terrace at Great American Ball Park.
The festivities start at noon with the Bud & Burgers Viewing Party on Joe Nuxhall Way where food and beverages will be available for purchase from Anheuser Busch, Coca-Cola, LaRosa’s and Laura’s Lean Beef.
Live music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Etrayn.
The statue dedication ceremony will follow at 1 p.m. and will be shown on TV screens to fans on Joe Nuxhall and Freedom Way.
Reds’ HOF Chapter Events
Winningham will visit Athens, Huntington, and Morehead Reds Hall of Fame Chapters from June 20-22.
Winningham was drafted ninth overall by the New York Mets in the first round of the 1981 MLB Draft.
He played four seasons for the Cincinnati Reds from 1988-1991. He played for the 1990 World Series “Wire to Wire” team that swept the Oakland Athletics.
He finished Game 4 of the World Series for an injured Billy Hatcher where he scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and he finished the series batting .500.
He holds the modern day era record for the Reds for hitting three triples in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
