Annual activity takes place in Chesapeake on June 3
CHESAPEAKE — An event set for Saturday, June 3 offers a chance for children with special needs and their families to enjoy a day of fishing and fun.
George McCalvin, of Special Needs Youth Sportsman, said the group will host a fishing outing at a private farm in Chesapeake.
“It’s a free day of fishing and we’ll be serving breakfast and lunch,” he said of the annual effort. “All they need to do is show up.”
The event is set to begin at 8 a.m. McCalvin said those wishing to participate are asked to meet up at Tractor Supply in South Point at 7 a.m. to follow the caravan of vehicles to the location.
For those who can’t make the meet-up time, he said signs will be posted along the route to direct traffic.
