Jimmy Wheeler

June 27, 1933 — May 19, 2017

Jimmy J. Wheeler, 83, of Coal Grove, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at The Sanctuary of Ohio Valley in Ironton. The Ashland, Kentucky native was born June 27, 1933, a son to the late Delbert M. and Effie Reliford Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sue Wheeler, of Coal Grove.
Mr. Wheeler was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. Jimmy was a computer programmer for the Armco/AK Steel Company, where he retired in 1996 after 33 years of service. He joined the U.S. Naval Reserve and retired in 1993 as Senior Chief Aviation Storekeeper. He was a Coal Grove Village Councilman and a member of Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and assistant camp director.
In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Frank) Waller, of Coal Grove, and Jamisue (Dan) Weber, of Mount Gilead; a son, Robert (Susan) Wheeler, of Cincinnati; three brothers, Clyde (Barbara) Wheeler, of Ironton, Charles (Yvonne) Wheeler, of South Point, and Harry Wheeler, of South Point; and a sister, Nellie Blankenship, of Venice, Florida.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Wolfe; and a brother, Robert Wheeler.
Funeral services will be 11 .m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Todd Warner officiating.  Burial will follow at Ice Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Barry Jobe

April 7, 1952 — May 19, 2017

Barry Lynn Jobe, 65, of South Point, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at his home. He was born April 7, 1952, in Hamlin, West Virginia, a son of the late Wetzel Calvin Jobe and Mattie Marie White Jobe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Jobe and Tina Marie Gatts; and a brother, William Fredrick Jobe.
He was a Marine veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and was retired from American Car & Foundry (AC&F).
Barry is survived by his wife, Betty Joe Jeffrey Jobe; his children, Rebecca Sue Diaz, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Barry Lynn Jobe, II, of South Point, and Mary Amanda Jobe, of South Point; a sister, Sharon Kay (Chet) Richardson, of Madison, West Virginia; a brother, Richard (Debbie) Jobe, of Milton, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Madison Jobe, Tyler Diaz, Kylee Diaz, Jacob Jobe, Michael Norris, II, and Daniel Norris; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Steve Dolin officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

Gregory Rose, 54, of Scottown, died Friday, May 19, 2017, at home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
