Honor mothers on Sunday

While it has certainly always been an expectation, this Sunday is a day that everyone should find a reason to commemorate Mother’s Day in some way — whether it is for a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt or another female that were, and are, influential in our lives.

This special day is a way for us to say “thank you” for all the women in our lives.

We all know that being a mother isn’t just raising children or cooking dinner, but a full-time job, in many cases outside of their regular full-time job, that involves much more than we can imagine.

But far too often, the role of a mother is a thankless position that doesn’t pay anything, but can undoubtedly be rewarding.

This Mother’s Day, take the time to cook them a meal, clean the house, let them sleep a little longer, reflect on those who have passed or find some quiet time to say a prayer.

In the end, Mother’s Day isn’t just about cards, gifts or meals. It should be a time where we show our gratitude for all that the women in our lives have done.

While it is certainly easy to take days like today for granted, we should celebrate our Mothers each day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who have worked tirelessly each day to help guide their families.
