ASHLAND — Buffalo Skinner Recordings country/Americana artist Rob McNurlin is set to perform a CD release concert at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 8 the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center.
McNurlin, who is a native of nearby Westwood, Kentucky, just outside of Ashland, and now lives in Nashville, is performing the CD release concert for his newest CD, Tent of the Wicked, which is his ninth.
The CD was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, and produced by the legendary Kenny Vaughan. Vaughan is a longtime member of Marty Stuart’s band, The Fabulous Superlatives. All of the Superlatives join McNurlan on the CD, with Kenny Vaughan on guitar, Harry Stinson on drums, Chris Scruggs on steel and Dave Roe on bass.
McNurlan has toured the U.S., England and Australia as a solo artist and with his band, the Beatnik Cowboys. McNurlan’s songs have also been used in several films, and his recordings have landed in the Top 20 on the American Charts and Top 40 on the European Country Charts.
For this concert, McNurlan will be backed by the Beatnik Cowboys, which include Aaron Tatterson on guitar and Rudy Rohr on the mandolin and guitar.
There is limited seating for the concert, and the first 100 tickets sold will receive a limited edition collector’s edition of the CD. Tickets are $10 each.
