It was a one-two punch for the St. Joseph Female Flyers.
The pitching supplied the one punch while the offense provided the two punch with its hitting and the Female Flyers swept the South Gallia Lady Rebels 18-0 and 15-2 in the season opener on Saturday.
Alex Holtzapfel pitched five scoreless innings and struck out eight to get the win in the opener. Kelsey Malone came on in the first inning of the second game and pitched one-hit relief the rest of the way as she struck out eight and notched the win.
Ashley Bartram went 3-3 with three runs batted in while Megan Riley, Holtzapfel and Malone each collected to hits to pace the first game offense.
Riley keyed the second game win by going 3-3 with four RBI and Kaitlyn Sheridan was 2-3 with three runs knock in.
St Joseph visits Fairview, Ky., on Wednesday and travels to Cross Lanes Christian on Thursday.
