Program equips the youth

As our youth continue to learn and grow, school districts right here at home afford them the ability to continue to work their way through increasing levels of academics.
This is an extremely important time in our children’s lives, and programs like Principal For a Day allow them to see their respective school from a different viewpoint.
These programs are valuable for each student that receives the opportunity to participate, and we commend each of the districts who give our students the chance to become a leader, for not only their school but their peers as well, even if just for a day.
Students see first hand how the school runs and decisions are made, and, hopefully, each of these students gain a new perspective beyond the textbook.
From kindergarten through 12th grade, the rightful focus should be on academics. But, working hard to prepare them for responsibilities, making decisions, and understanding that each decision we make has effects, good or bad follows in a close second.
In the end, having our young people equipped to face the challenges that inevitably arise as they grow up with a combination of academics and life skills will be beneficial for life.
