The Ironton Middle School wrestling club captured first place in Saturday’s Chillicothe Huntington Ross Quad Match.
Ironton won the match against Chesapeake, Wellston and host Ross.
Ironton is now 17-2 in head-to-head competition.
The upstart program had all of the team’s members make the field of 64 in their weight class for the annual WSAZ Wrestling Tournament.
The field of 105 coaches seeded Ironton’s Dalton Crabtree for the event. Fighting Tigers freshman wrestler Hunter Eaches will compete in the heavyweight class. Eaches currently has a record of 16-4.
