banquet set Jan. 11
The 13th annual Portsmouth Murals’ baseball banquet will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Friends Community Center, 1202 18th Street, Portsmouth.
The reception will be at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (740) 353-7647.

Greenup youth hoops
tournaments planned
The Greenup County High School baseball team will host a four division boys’ and girls’ double elimination basketball tournament Feb. 6-12 at McKell and Wurtland Middle Schools.
Entry fee is $100 per team. First and second place teams receive individual trophies with awards given for the cheerleading competition.
There will be individual skills competition during halftime for each team.
Team divisions are: D1 2nd grade and under; D2 3rd grade and under; D3 4th grade and under; D4 5th grade and under. No travel or AAU teams.
