Jaguars turn back Dragons

HILLIARD — The Fairland Dragons jumped up to a strong Division I team to find a challenge.
The Dragons entered Saturday’s game unbeaten against the twice-beaten Bradley Jaguars and stayed close for the first half.
But the Jaguars outscored Fairland 21-9 in the third quarter and went on to post their ninth win in a row, 64-42.
Fairland (8-1) had three players in double figures led by Luke Thomas with 15 points. Isaiah Howell had 13 points and Kollin Van Horn added 10.
Bradley (10-2) was led by the tandem of Braden Norris with 25 points and Isaiah Speelman with 23. Matt Allocco added 13 points.
Norris hit six 3-pointers and Bradley hit 10 as a team.
The Jaguars were up 16-13 at the end of the first quarter.
Bradley outscored Fairland 12-9 in the second quarter but the Dragons trailed just 28-22 at the half.
But in the third quarter Bradley blitzed the Dragons 21-9 to pull away to a 49-31 lead.
Fairland hosts Portsmouth on Tuesday.
