Event a joint effort of People for the Point, South Point Schools
SOUTH POINT –– The second annual South Point Christmas Extravaganza, sponsored by People for the Point and South Point Schools, is taking place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at South Point High School and will feature numerous Christmas festivities.
“This is a good way for us to work with the schools and work with the community,” Chris Smith, president of People for the Point, said. “Last year was the first year, and it turned out real good. This year, we’re trying to grow it and hopefully it will be bigger and better. We’re looking forward to a good crowd.”
Pancakes with Santa will be 8 a.m.-noon in the South Point High School cafeteria. Tickets for pancakes are $5 in advance, which can be purchased at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, Robin Fowler State Farm, Allman’s Giovanni’s or South Point High School. Tickets at the door are $6 or $5 with a can of food to be donated to local food pantries. Children 5 and under eat free.
Briana Patrick Photography will be taking free photos of children with Santa, and South Point students will provide musical entertainment during the breakfast. Inflatables and Christmas crafts will be set up in the high school gym for the children as well.
Also part of the event is a craft and vendor show, which will be set up in the South Point Middle School gym, for the duration of the event.
Crafters, vendors and local businesses are still needed. The setup fee is $20, and anyone interested should contact Lisa Rivers Irish at lisa.irish@gmail.com.
Concessions will be available from noon-4 p.m. from People for the Point members.
