Where has courtesy gone? Courtesy and speed have gone out the door. Letting people out of a parking space or letting a person go ahead of you (older or young) is a thing of the past. We have become self-centered people. People are in such a big hurry that we forget about others.

When I was younger I went faster than I should, but the older I became, I found it was easier to slow down and use less gas and save time in the long run. While I am driving more and more everyday, I find more and more people speeding all over town.

When I first took my drivers test, I remember the speed limit in downtown was 25 miles per hour and other parts of town it was 35 mph.

On Hill’s Plaza it has a sign of 10 mph that no one pays any attention to. What is the speed limit in town?

Several times I have had to run to keep from being hit. I believe our police have their hands tied doing other things that are important. I believe there would be enough speeding tickets written to pay for another patrolman or woman.

On Hill’s Plaza there is a 4-foot space in front of all stores that says “No Parking,” buy they do it anyway.

Often we see handicapped cards hanging from the rearview mirror, plus necklaces and a lot of other material. On the back of the handicapped cards it explains not to hang them while driving. Material hanging from the mirror can be a hazard. I know people do not believe it. I thought it was the law.
