Helton, Pointers blank Senators

WEST PORTSMOUTH — Jake Helton is hard to satisfy.
Helton had two hat tricks last week. He went beyond the hat trick on Monday with four goals as the South Point Pointers blanked the Portsmouth West Senators 6-0 in a soccer game.
Helton scored three goals in the first half as South Point (4-2-1) took a 4-0 lead. Merrick Harris had the other first half goal with an assist from Drew Smith.
Smith scored a goal with an assist from Helton to begin the second half before Helton scored an unassisted goal.
Goalkeeper Jordan Perkey registered a shutout with four saves.
West fell to 1-3.
In the girls’ game, South Point blanked West 7-0.
South Point hosts Gallipolis at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
