Chesapeake police detail July traffic stops

CHESAPEAKE — Chesapeake police made a total of 145 traffic stops for the month of July.

A total of 125 tickets were issued for traffic violations, while 33 warnings were given, according to a report submitted to village council by police chief Lenny Abrams.

Speeding was the top reason for traffic stops, accounting for 68 stops, with expired tags being a reason for 10 stops. OVI/physical control violations accounted for six stops.
