Skateboard, bike rodeo Thursday

Helmets to be given away
The rescheduled bike and skateboard rodeo that got cancelled in May due to weather is set to take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the Ironton skate park.
Helmets donated by the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Ohio AAP) will be given out while supplies last. Children will also have the opportunity to have their bikes inspected, get bike riding and skateboarding safety tips and go through a safety course.
The event is free and light refreshments will be served.
Sponsors for the bike and skateboard rodeo include the Ironton Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Ironton Mayor Katrina Keith, Dickess Auto Repair, Ironton Advance Auto Parts, the Friends of Ironton, AAP and the Appalachian Family and Children First Council.
The skate park is loated at Fourth and Etna streets in Ironton.
