Cecil Chatfield Sr.

Cecil J. Chatfield Sr., 81, of Park Layne, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. He was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Hanging Rock, the son of the late Hugh and Gertrude Chatfield.

Cecil was a member of New Carlisle Blue Lodge 100 F&AM. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Pete, Bob and Larry. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret; a son, Jim (Sandy) Chatfield; daughter, Jayne (Mike) Koontz; sister, Linda Long; special great-granddaughter, Madison Wilkins; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and others that called him Papaw of Park Layne.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar and Fraley Funeral Home, New Carlisle. Masonic services to honor Cecil will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.trostelchapman.com.

 

 

Lowell Stamper

Lowell T. (Butch) Stamper, 75, of Ironton, passed away June 10, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. The Lawrence County native was born Dec. 15, 1941, a son of the late Wilver Stamper and Elizabeth Boggs Stamper Givens.

Mr. Stamper attended Wheelersburg High School and was a retired construction worker. He was a member of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Ironton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him, Andrew Jack and Addie Stamper; and two brothers: Ron Stamper and Harold Stamper.

He is survived by significant other, Nancy Aldridge Stamper of Ironton; his daughter, Teri (Gene) Kelley of Ironton; grandson, Michael Church of Ashland; granddaughter, Jana Church Carr of Ashland; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor and Camryn of Ashland, Kentucky brother, Curtis “Bob” (Jean) Stamper of Frankfort, Ohio; sister, Judy Fitch of Springfield; sister, Imogene Weeks of Roanoke, Virginia.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Shayne Wilds and Kenny Webb officiating. Burial will follow the service in Puckett Cemetery. Paul Bradley

Paul Edward Bradley 44, of Ashland, died June 5, 2016, at the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Caroline Cemetery in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the chapel.

 

 

Gary Ison

Gary E. Ison, 67, of Rockledge, Florida, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at his residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites by the VFW Post 8850 and with the Rev. David Lambert officiating.
