Paul Chapman
Feb. 16, 1918 — May 29, 2016
Paul L. Chapman, 98, went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2016. The Ironton native was born Feb. 16, 1918, the son of the late Everett and Mina Hall Chapman.
He was a 1933 graduate of Ironton High School. The World War II veteran retired from Allied Chemical, South Point. He was a lifetime member of the Elks 177 and a lifetime member of the VFW 8850. He attended the Memorial United Methodist Church, Coal Grove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann L. Chapman; two brothers, James H. Chapman and Everett Chapman; and two sisters, Virginia Pemberton and Barbara Ann Pennington.
Paul is survived by a son, Paul R. (Dianne) Chapman, of Sandston, Virginia; two grandchildren, Lisa (Rod) Grosse, of Plano, Texas, and Paul R. (Caren) Chapman Jr., of Mechansville, Virginia; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Friday at Woodland Cemetery with pastor Paul Dillow officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the Chapman family by visiting www.tracybrammerfh.com.
Linda Bennett
Dec. 6, 1950 — May 30, 2016
Linda K. Bennett, 65, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2016. She was born in Lawrence County on Dec. 6, 1950, to the late James and Georgiana Wilds. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Wilds, of Ironton, and Gerald Reed, of Port Clinton; sisters, Patrica Daughtery, of Okeechobee, Florida, and Rita Stewart, of Ironton, and her soul mate, Steven Daily Sr.
Linda is survived by her sons, Gerald Bennett Jr., of Ironton, and Steven Daily Jr., of South Point; and her grandchildren, Kaylee Bennett, Barrett Bennett, Jaycob Daily, Eli Daily; and her great-grandchild, Jaydon Banks; sister, Rosie (Randy) Depriest, of Pedro; and brother-in-law Danny Stewart, of Ironton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda was a loving mother and grandmother. She had a lot of good friends, Jane Waldron, Janet Dezwareh, Penny Lewis, Lisa Gillman and Wanda Dunlap. She was kind to everyone she knew. She will be missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Thursday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with Father David Huffman officiating.
Lois Toney
Lois A. Toney, 67, of Winfield, West Virginia, died Friday, May 27, 2016. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hometown Independent Mission Church, Winfield, by pastor Darren Persinger.
