Collective bargaining ordinances on Ironton City Council agenda

Ironton City Council will hear four ordinances on the agenda for tonight’s meeting.
A first reading will be given for Ordinance 16-23, authorizing and directing the mayor to execute, on behalf of Ironton, the collective bargaining agreement between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police, the Labor Council, Inc., and declaring an emergency.
The collective bargaining agreement was negotiated for the contract year of April 1, 2016, through March 31, 2017, regarding wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment.
Also to be given a first reading is Ordinance 16-24, authorizing and directing the mayor to execute, on behalf of Ironton, a collective bargaining agreement between the city and the AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees), Local 771, and declaring an emergency.
The agreement has been negotiated for the contract ending April 14, 2017.
Ordinance 16-20 and Ordinance 16-21, dealing with the central business district and following the rehabilitation guidelines will be given second readings.
Ironton City Council begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
