Barnbusters 4-H club names officers

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP — The Barnbusters 4-H club met Sunday at the Elizabeth Township Fire Department, where club officers were named for the year as well as other business.
The officers of the club are Alaina Gleichauf as president, Tucker Meadows as vice president, Whitney Howard as secretary, Gavin Meadows as treasurer, Ashlie Howard as the news reporter, Sydney Hairston as historian, Jared Raynard as the recreation leader, Dominic Dixon as safety officer, Victor Day as health officer, Maggie Raynard as community service officer and Wyatt Besco as the flag bearer.
To begin the meeting, officers welcomed the club’s new members and went over some of the background of 4-H and items coming up.
Other Barnbuster 4-H news:
Club members participated in a supply drive for homeless locals, collecting toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap and other hygiene products. Members also brought candy to make Easter baskets at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley Nursing Home.
Guest speaker Teresa Huddle brought a therapy dog to the meeting and explained projects that could be done with their dogs through 4-H.
Club member Jared Raynard conducted a project demonstration, combining two of his other projects, woodworking and archery. He is making a long bow.
The next Barnbusters 4-H meeting will take place Sunday, March 13 at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley Nursing Home. An Easter party with the nursing home residents will also happen at that time.
