An Ironton man who allegedly made threats against Ohio University Southern students in December was indicted this week by a Lawrence County grand jury.
Ruben G. Henninge, 27, of 803 S. Sixth St., Ironton, faces one count of making terroristic threats, a third-degree felony.
Henninge was arrested by the Ironton Police Department on Dec. 8, 2015, after allegedly posting “OU students are about to get killed” in an online chat room. Two days later, he was arraigned in Ironton Municipal Court and pleaded not guilty. At his arraignment, he said he did not remember making the threat, but that he has mental health issues and was recently released from an Athens hospital.
According to Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson, Henninge was due back in Ironton Municpal Court on Dec. 17, but waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
