Ironton Little League

sets registration dates

The Ironton Little League will be conducting registration for boys’ and girls’ leagues aged 4-and-up for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.

Registrations will be held at the following dates, times and locations:

Saturday, Jan. 30, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ironton Middle School; Thursday, Feb. 11, 4:30-to-7:30 p.m. at the Ironton Middle School; Thursday, Feb. 25, 5-to-8 p.m. at Wendy’s, Fourth and Center Streets.

Registrants’ will be required to provide proof of age (birth certificate) and three proof of residency if the child does not attend a school within league boundaries.

Other dates of interest:

March 5 tryouts for minor league and above); March 7 make-up tryouts; March 8 draft (minor league and above); March 12 practices begin; April 9 Opening Day.

 

 

Ironton Hall of Fame

induction on Saturday

The Ironton High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction festivities will be held Saturday in conjunction with the boys’ and girls’ basketball games.

Tickets for both games and admission to the Hall of Fame dinner in the high school cafeteria following the games are $10. Tickets for just the Hall of Fame dinner are $15.

This year’s honorees are: Dr. John Wolfe, Jermon Jackson, Dennis Gagai, Kristen Kavanaugh and Dr. James J. “Jimmy” Payne.

The honorees will be introduced to the fans between the basketball games.
