Choir members are sought for an Ironton Area Unity Service in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Rob Hale, Pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, said the event is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Jan 17.
He said 11 pastors are involved in the service so far, and that it was inspired, in part, by the letter Ironton Mayor Katrina Keith sent to churches in December, asking for help “to move Ironton forward.”
A practice for the MLK weekend event is set for 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 the Nazarene church for an all-church community choir, led by Kristen Martin, and congregations are asked to send choir members to take part.
A fellowship is scheduled to follow the Jan. 17 event, and church members are asked to bring finger foods and desserts.
