GETAWAY — Ten patients have been transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital following a school bus accident on State Route 243.
One of the transported patients was the driver.
“We responded and Patriot EMS responded and transported the patients,” Steve Harrison, public information officer for the Lawrence County EMS.
The accident where a bus overturned into a ditch occurred around 2:15 p.m. today about a mile from the Collins Career Center.
The bus was apparently transporting students from Collins to South Point High School.
None of the injuries appeared life-threatening, Harrison said.
Students not taken to the hospital were either transported by another bus or picked up by their parents.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is taking over the investigation, according to Harrison.
