SOUTH POINT — South Point police are searching for a suspect they say is wanted in connection with a string of robberies in the village.
Police said a felony warrant has been issues for Bryan Christopher Layne, of South Point, who they have been trying to locate for some time.
Additional burglary and theft charges were made against Layne for an incident on Tuesday. Police said Layne is the suspect captured on video of a break-in, which took place around 11:25 a.m. at a North Kenova Road home, in which a man walks to the rear of a home, kicks in the door to a sun room, and then kicks in the door from the sun room to enter the home.
Small items and cash were reported stolen from the home.
Police urge caution regarding Layne, who they said recently purchased a firearm in the Huntington area by altering his Social Security number.
Anyone who has information on Layne’s whereabouts is asked to call South Point Police at 740-377-4011.
