Six ordinances and a resolution are on the agenda for the first Ironton City Council meeting with mayor Katrina Keith and the newly elected council members.
The first reading of Ordinance 15-42, adopting the temporary operating budget for the city of Ironton for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2016, and declaring an emergency will be given.
Second readings will be given on Ordinance 15-39, rescheduling the regularly scheduled Ironton City Council meeting and declaring an emergency, which will move the meeting from Christmas Eve; Ordinance 15-40, amending chapter 890 of the codified ordinances of the city of Ironton regarding municipal income tax and declaring an emergency; and Ordinance 14-41, amending Ironton’s annual operating budget for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2015, and declaring an emergency.
Third and final readings will be given on Ordinance 15-36, authorizing the mayor to purchase new dumpsters for the city of Ironton and Ordinance 15-38, authorizing and directing the mayor to execute an agreement with Allard Excavation, LLC for construction of the riverfront transient dock and riverwalk project and declaring an emergency, although this ordinance is expected to die due to the project being re-bid.
The lone resolution that will be given is Resolution 15-43, authorizing the transfer of wastewater treatment plant equipment replacement funds to the wastewater operating fund for expenses and declaring an emergency.
A finance committee meeting is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. just before the start of the regular city council meeting at 6 p.m. today in the council chambers of the city center.
