Community support helps many

During the next month, various organizations, businesses and civic groups will be working diligently to brighten the holidays for families and children who are in need.
Events like toy drives, food and clothing events, festivals and remembrance services are all wonderful and worthwhile for our communities. But they also need the support from the community.
This is something that Lawrence County residents have always stepped up to the plate for, to be both involved and make a difference for those in need throughout the region.
Whether it is volunteering time or making a donation, the support is critical for each of these organizations to help a family who may not otherwise have a meal for Thanksgiving or a present under the Christmas tree.
We commend the efforts of all those who work each year to help along with those individuals and businesses who are long-time supporters.
The Tribune will continue to highlight these events, and if you want to be involved, simply contact those organizations to find out what they need the most.
These events are not done each year seeking notoriety, but to help lift the spirits for those families and individuals who need it the most. We all need to make sure the support is there to continue to make everyone’s holiday season a little better.
