Heroin found during traffic stop

HANGING ROCK — Officers with the Hanging Rock Police Department arrested two Lawrence County residents on Wednesday following a traffic stop.

According to a press release from the agency, officers initiated the stop of a Jeep Wrangler with fictitious plates at about 11 a.m.

“During interaction with the driver, criminal indicators were observed,” according to the release.

A bag of black tar heroin was allegedly found in the vehicle’s center console.

Arrested were David L. Dodds, 36, of Chesapeake, and Michael J. Fritz, 38, of South Point.
