SOUTH POINT— South Point Elementary is set to host its annual Halloween parade on Friday.
Costumed students from all classes, kindergarten through fifth grade, will take part in the event, which steps off at 12:45 p.m. at the school.
The parade will go down Seventh Street to Park Avenue, then to High Street and Washington Avenue.
The top two students in the accelerated reading program of each class will get a ride on a fire truck, while the primary students of the month will get to ride on a float sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene.
Six children named as Star Students, an honor with stringent requirements in accelerated reading and attendance, will serve as the parade’s grand marshals.
The South Point High School marching band and members of the Shriners International will also participate in the event.
